Black Tongue

Too clinically brutal to be a Doom band, too sludgy to be defined as Death Metal, too Dark to be labelled as a Hardore band- The nightmarish soundscapes BT create simply have to stand alone.
Claustrophobic atmospheres in the vein of Meshuggah and Neurosis at their most punishing collide with the raw, riff soaked energy of ‘Remission’ era Mastodon and the raw, belligerent brutality of The Acacia Strain…the result is a sonic force that is both powerful and multi layered. A sound that is already starting to evolve in its own right.

2013’s follow up offering to ‘Falsifier’ was the EP entitled ‘Born Hanged’, launched with the song ‘Waste’ - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=piZc9rcBtLk - the new offering showed a step up in both the song writing and production (which, by the way, is also handled by the band) and confirmed what everyone suspected: that the BLACK TONGUE were not only here to stay, but that they have only just begun to show the world what they are truly capable of. A US and Canadian tour was then announced as well as a score of high profile supports and festivals….all without label support or management.

Born Hanged was then released, with a new video for the song ‘Coma’, which also featured guest vocals from now-label mates MARTYR DEFILED's Matt Jones. The video can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mb5OMOqJRWc

Having signed a worldwide deal with SOAR/Century Media, BT are now working on what will be the band’s debut full length release, the foundations have already been set for BLACK TONGUE’S imminent domination.

The band’s official statement for the signing was : "We are proud to have become part of such a strong UK label. Hopefully we can add an extra edge to their already powerful roster. Siege Of Amida have done so much for the UK scene- now the label has also merged with Century Media we can't wait to see where this will take us on a worldwide level.”

A remixed and remastered ‘Falsifier’ will be released along with ‘Born Hanged’ as a definitive re-release before the end of 2014.

The band’s debut full length is set for a tentative release of September 2015.
