Mothertone are a heavy rock outfit from Edinburgh who formed in mid 2012. After a few line up changes the band found its footing and premier line up; Vocalist Eric Brock, Guitarist Kieran Gallagher, Bassist Dean Gordon & Drummer Rikki Smith. The band applies elements of hard rock, punk, metal, grunge, noise and doom. In the bands tireless effort to be unique they have found themselves beyond categorization and thusly piquing interest in the Scottish underground hard rock scene.
The band members have played all manner of venues throughout Scotland including the Liquid Rooms, Classic Grand, King Tuts & Cabaret Voltaire. The band intend to branch out to further parts of the UK and beyond, making an impact whilst garnering a following along the way.
The band were selected by a music project ran by Verden Studios. They were chosen from over 100 bands to represent the project.
Song subjects range from pop cultures references, various obscenities, avant gardisms and of course the fairer sex.
The band ignore all current trends in rock music and go back to basics whilst maintaining a spirit of originality and a thirst for the unknown.
First and foremost the band seeks to be the most powerful, high octane, balls to wall live act in hard rock.
